Minutes, 1869-1973.

This series contains the minutes of the State Board of Education from 1869 to 1973. The minutes document members present, topics discussed, and actions taken. The Board administered the state public colleges until the creation of the Board of Control in 1905; therefore, the minutes also document the early development of the State University System. Volume 1 contains the minutes of the 1870 organizational meeting of the trustees of the Florida Agricultural School, the facilities of which later became the University of Florida.
